Little Moments, Big Magic.

Be a Big Brother

African-American Men

We are faced with a crisis—and you can help.  Too many African-American boys are at risk of dropping out of school, getting involved in drugs—losing their way.  Having a Big Brother who can guide them and help them make positive choices will change their lives and make our communities stronger.

Why do we need Big Brothers?

More than 70% of our children waiting for a Big are boys, but only three out of every ten inquiries to volunteer come from men.  Research shows that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in the life of a boy.

We also need Hispanic, Native American and Asian Men.  Come be one of the millions of volunteers that give a young person someone to look up to and learn why so many say, “I get back so much more than I give”.

Text Box: How it Works
Inquire online, over the phone, or in person to speak with a match specialist.
Apply. Ready to take the next step right now? Complete the online application. This will speed up the process. Alternately, after you inquire online, a match coordinator will contact you to complete the application offline.
Interview. A match coordinator will interview you in person.
Background Check. Child safety is our priority, so we’ll review your records to ensure you’ll be a good fit for our program.
References. You’ll need to provide at least two references of people we can talk to about your ability to be a mentor.
Matching. We’ll review the kids in your area in need of a Big Brother and find the best fit for you. There are many variables, and matching may go very quickly or take some time. Making the right match is very important to our commitment to form lasting relationships.
